- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla.
- Alternately add the flour mixture and milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
- Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the cupcakes cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of lemon zest or a pinch of cinnamon to the batter.
