Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Bars
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp almond extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp pink food coloring
For Decoration
  • 0.5 cup Valentine's Day sprinkles

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan and line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Mix until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Add the pink food coloring and mix until the dough is evenly colored.
  6. Press the dough into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle the Valentine's Day sprinkles evenly over the top.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes
