Southern Blackberry Cobbler

Ingredients
  

For the Filling
  • 4 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
For the Pie Crust
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup cold butter cut into small pieces
  • 3 tbsp ice water

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • 9-inch baking dish
  • Oven

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix blackberries, sugar, flour, and lemon juice. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  4. Add ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until dough forms.
  5. Roll out the dough and place it over the blackberry mixture in a baking dish.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbly.

Notes

Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
