Ingredients
  

For the Cookie
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet or milk chocolate
Optional Toppings
  • 1/4 cup sprinkles
  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream

  • 10-inch cast iron skillet
  • Mixing bowls

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your 10-inch cast iron skillet.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared skillet.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is still slightly soft.
  9. If using, sprinkle the top with sprinkles immediately after removing from the oven.
  10. Let the cookie cool slightly in the skillet before serving. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

You can customize the chocolate chips with your favorite kind. Enjoy this giant cookie!
