Ingredients
  

For the Pot Roast
  • 3 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
For the Gravy
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water

Method
 

  1. Season the beef chuck roast with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the roast on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  3. Transfer the roast to the slow cooker. Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the meat is tender.
  5. Remove the roast from the slow cooker and set aside. Pour the cooking liquid into a saucepan and bring to a simmer.
  6. Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl. Stir into the simmering liquid and cook until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Slice the roast and serve with the gravy.

Notes
