Slow Cooker Beef and Black Bean Chili

Ingredients
  

For the Chili
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • Skillet

Method
 

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is soft.
  3. Transfer the beef mixture to the slow cooker.
  4. Add the black beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper to the slow cooker. Stir to combine.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
  6. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
