Simple Homemade Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
  

For the Sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes 28 oz
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Wooden spoon

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in crushed tomatoes and stir well.
  4. Add salt, black pepper, dried basil, and dried oregano. Stir to combine.
  5. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove from heat and use as desired.
