Shrimp and Sausage Creamy Cajun Pasta

Ingredients
  

For the Pasta
  • 12 oz linguine or fettuccine
For the Sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb andouille sausage sliced
  • 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 1/4 cup parsley chopped

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Pot
  • Colander

Method
 

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the shrimp and cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add garlic to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream, chicken broth, and Cajun seasoning. Stir and simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Add the parmesan cheese and stir until melted.
  7. Return the sausage and shrimp to the skillet. Add the cooked pasta and toss to coat.
  8. Garnish with parsley before serving.

Notes
