Ingredients
  

For the Prime Rib
  • 1 prime rib roast (about 5 lbs) bone-in
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp rosemary dried
  • 1 tsp thyme dried

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. Rub the prime rib with olive oil, then coat evenly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, rosemary, and thyme.
  3. Place the roast bone-side down in a roasting pan.
  4. Roast for 15 minutes, then reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (165°C). Continue roasting until the internal temperature reaches 120°F (49°C) for medium-rare, about 1.5 to 2 hours.
  5. Remove from the oven and let rest for 30 minutes before slicing.
