Pasta with Tomato Sauce

A simple and classic pasta dish with a rich tomato sauce.

Ingredients
  

For the Pasta
  • 400 g pasta
  • 1 tbsp salt
For the Tomato Sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 400 g canned tomatoes crushed
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Saucepan

Method
 

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add salt and pasta, then cook according to package instructions.
  2. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Add crushed tomatoes, basil, sugar, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Drain the pasta and mix with the tomato sauce. Serve immediately.
