Ingredients
  

For the Pasta
  • 12 oz pasta any shape
  • 1 tbsp salt
For the Sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes 28 oz
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • salt and pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Colander
  • Skillet

Method
 

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add salt and pasta, then cook according to package instructions.
  2. Drain the pasta and set aside.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes, basil, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Toss the cooked pasta with the sauce and serve.
