Ingredients
  

For the Pasta
  • 12 oz pasta any shape
  • 1 tbsp salt
For the Sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes 28 oz
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped

Method
 

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add salt and pasta, then cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add crushed tomatoes and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Stir in cooked pasta and fresh basil. Toss to coat evenly.
  5. Serve warm with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
