Ingredients

For the Chicken
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
For the Hot Honey Garlic Butter Sauce
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes or more, to taste
For Garnish (Optional)
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Large bowl
  • Small saucepan

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chicken pieces, flour, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat the chicken evenly.
  3. Spread the coated chicken in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and lightly golden.
  5. While the chicken is baking, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes. Stir well and cook for 2-3 minutes until the garlic is fragrant and the sauce is combined.
  6. Once the chicken is done, transfer the hot chicken bites to a clean large bowl. Pour the hot honey garlic butter sauce over the chicken and toss to coat.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and sesame seeds, if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

You can adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to control the level of spiciness. For a thicker sauce, you can simmer it for a few extra minutes.
