Ingredients
  

For the Cookies
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
For the Decoration
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • black gel icing for football laces

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  3. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually mix into butter mixture.
  4. Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness on a floured surface. Cut into football shapes.
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool on wire racks.
  6. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make icing. Spread over cooled cookies.
  7. Use black gel icing to draw football laces on each cookie.
