Ingredients
  

For the Chicken
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
For the Topping
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil chopped

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and oregano.
  3. Dip each chicken breast in the beaten egg, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken for 2-3 minutes per side until golden.
  5. Place chicken in the baking dish. Top each piece with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and cheese is melted.
  7. Sprinkle with fresh basil before serving.
