- Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Reserve about 1/4 cup of pasta water before draining.
- While the pasta cooks, melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Continue to stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat.
- If the sauce is too thick, add the reserved pasta water a tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
You can add cooked chicken, shrimp, or vegetables to make this a complete meal.
