Method
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.

- Add crushed tomatoes, vegetable broth, sugar, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Blend the soup until smooth using a blender.
