- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter or oil.
- Add diced apples and cinnamon, sautéing until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in rolled oats, water or milk, and cinnamon. Bring to a simmer.
- Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until oats are tender and liquid is absorbed.
- Drizzle with maple syrup if desired and serve warm.
