Ingredients
  

For the Oatmeal
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 4 cups water or milk
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup optional
For the Apples
  • 2 apples peeled and diced
  • 1 tbsp butter or oil
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter or oil.
  2. Add diced apples and cinnamon, sautéing until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in rolled oats, water or milk, and cinnamon. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until oats are tender and liquid is absorbed.
  5. Drizzle with maple syrup if desired and serve warm.
