Ingredients
  

For the Bars
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bars cool in the pan before cutting into squares.
