Ingredients
  

For the Brownie Layer
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
For the Cookie Layer
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

  • 9x13 inch baking pan

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. Make the brownie layer: Whisk melted butter, sugar, and cocoa powder in a bowl. Add eggs and vanilla, then mix in flour and salt.
  3. Make the cookie layer: Cream butter and sugars. Beat in egg and vanilla. Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Spread the brownie batter in the pan. Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough on top and swirl with a knife.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool before cutting into bars.
