  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 4 cups bread cubes day-old works best
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon or sausage chopped

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add bread cubes, cheese, and cooked meat to the baking dish.
  4. Pour egg mixture evenly over the bread mixture.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes or until set and golden brown.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving.
