Ingredients
  

For the Casserole
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 6 cups bread cubes day-old works best
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon or sausage chopped

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the bread cubes, cheese, and cooked meat to the bowl. Stir to combine.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Press down lightly to ensure the bread is soaked.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is set.
  6. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
