Method
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Wash the apples. Core the apples and slice them thinly, about 1/16-inch thick. A mandoline slicer is helpful for uniform slices.
- Arrange the apple slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets. Do not overlap them.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon evenly over the apple slices.
- Bake for 60 minutes. Flip the apple slices and bake for another 60 minutes, or until they are dry and slightly crisp. Baking time may vary depending on your oven and the thickness of the slices.
- Turn off the oven and let the apple chips cool completely in the oven with the door slightly ajar. This helps them crisp up further.
- Once cooled, store the apple chips in an airtight container at room temperature.
Notes
You can adjust the amount of cinnamon to your preference. For a sweeter chip, you can add a sprinkle of sugar along with the cinnamon before baking.
