Apple Crumble

A simple and delicious apple crumble recipe.

Ingredients
  

For the Filling
  • 6 apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
For the Crumble Topping
  • 150 g all-purpose flour
  • 75 g cold butter cubed
  • 50 g brown sugar

Equipment

  • Baking dish
  • Mixing bowl

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 190C (375F).
  2. Place the sliced apples in a baking dish. Sprinkle with granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cold butter, and brown sugar. Rub the butter into the flour with your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
  4. Spread the crumble topping evenly over the apples.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  6. Serve warm, perhaps with cream or ice cream.

Notes

You can add a handful of oats to the crumble topping for extra texture.
