Description

Indulge in this juicy lobster pasta recipe, featuring succulent lobster and a creamy, decadent sauce. Perfect for impressing guests or treating yourself to a luxurious meal. Learn the secrets to creating an easy lobster pasta that tastes like it came straight from a five-star restaurant.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs fresh lobster
  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Fill a large pot with salted water and bring to a rolling boil. Carefully place the lobster in the boiling water and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the shell turns bright red.
  2. Remove the cooked lobster from the pot and let it cool slightly. Extract the meat from the tail, claws, and body. Discard the shell. Roughly chop the lobster meat.
  3. Cook the spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  4. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using), and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add the heavy cream, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Stir well. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a little of the reserved pasta water. Gently fold in the chopped lobster meat and parsley. Heat through for another minute or two.
  6. Serve immediately. Garnish with extra parsley and a lemon wedge. Pair with crusty bread and a crisp white wine.

Notes

  • Use fresh, high-quality lobster for the best flavor.
  • Don’t overcook the lobster; it should be tender and succulent.
  • Reserve pasta water to adjust the consistency of the sauce.
  • Taste and adjust seasonings as needed; extra lemon juice can brighten the flavors.
  • For an easy lobster pasta, use pre-cooked lobster meat if short on time.
  • Add more red pepper flakes or hot sauce for a spicy kick.
  • Include shrimp or scallops for a more diverse seafood flavor.
  • Substitute the lobster with mushrooms or artichoke hearts for a vegetarian option.
